You keep adding more and more cigar friendly bars and restaurants to the map, so we’ll keep on enhancing the site and adding more features.

In August, we’ve created some functionality that we think will make the site much more valuable to visitors.

First off, we added the ability to add images to a location.  I’d hate to think that you’d need to visit CigarPlaces.com to see if a location is cigar-friendly, and then have to go back to Google to find another site with photos to see if it’s actually the kind of place that you’d want to have a cigar at.

We’re reaching out to all of the owners and managers of the locations that are listed on the map, and asking them to upload photos of their location.  This is only going to get us part of the way there though.  If you have photos of your favorite spot, or better yet, a photo of you enjoying a cigar there, create an account and upload them!

Some great photos have already been added to the site (doesn’t the picture below make you want to pop into this place and have a stogie!?).

We also created some city-specific pages that list all of the cigar friendly places in a metro area.  We’re hoping this makes it easier for people to find places that they haven’t visited before, and we’re thinking it will be especially useful when you travel (and sometimes you don’t always know the names of all of the neighborhoods/suburbs in a city).

So that’s what we’ve been up to in August.  As always, if you think that there are some features that you’d like to see on the site, drop me a line and we’ll start cranking them out!
